The decision is the City Council’s, with no set date, so a clear and informed public voice now is what counts. If you oppose the project, sign the petition. Either way, contact your council member and show up when the Council meets.

This step is for residents who oppose the data center. The petition, “Stop the data center in Prichard,” is a public record of how many residents are against it, and the more names behind it, the harder it is to wave off. If you are undecided or you support the project, the petition is not your tool, but the next two steps, contacting your council member and showing up, are for every resident.
The petition is hosted on Change.org. Signing takes about a minute.
Sign the petition on Change.org ↗Prichard has five single-member districts, and these five members hold the decision. They work for the people of Prichard and Africatown, not for the company. One (District 1) is opposed, and the other four have not said where they stand. Beyond the Council, State Senator Vivian Figures has also spoken against the project. The most valuable thing you can do is tell your member you’re watching this vote.

Public comment in the room and on the record is what “no set date” makes urgent, because the item could appear on an agenda with little notice.
